im 33weeks pregnant and just last week i had been told that i had a yeast infection. the doctor gave me a 3day treatment and it caused my whole area to swell up, become highly irritated, and itchy x10!! so I figured the yeast infection was still there since i also still had yellowish discharge comming out and began using the 7 day monistant treatment. Im on the 3rd day now and ive realized that i could not get the applicator inside me as much as the night before so i took my mirror and checked my area out and i realized there were fordyce spots on the inner and outer lips and there is a cyst inside of me right where my hole was so now its blockin the hole entrance and im confused…
should I continue to use the monistant?
why is this happening?
and what kan I do that won’t affect my baby?
Get thee back to the Dr.! Since you are pregnant you really must seek professional advice, not getting sufficient treatment could potentially lead to premature birth so dont risk guessing or trying to get by on non-professional advice.
I’m sure you’ll get passed this…best of luck!!

An intertrigo is an inflammation (rash) of the body folds (adjacent areas of skin).
An intertrigo sometimes refers to a bacterial, fungal, or viral infection that has developed at the site of broken skin due to such inflammation.
An intertrigo usually develops from the chafing of warm, moist skin in the areas of the inner thighs and genitalia, the armpits, under the breasts, the underside of the belly, behind the ears, and the web spaces between the toes and fingers. An intertrigo usually appears red and raw-looking, and may also itch, ooze, and be sore. Intertrigos occur more often among overweight individuals, those with diabetes, those restricted to bed rest or diaper use, and those who use medical devices, like artificial limbs, that trap moisture against the skin. Also, there are several skin diseases that can cause an intertrigo to develop, such as dermatitis or inverse psoriasis.

I ‘ve been feeling heavy cramps since 28 w, the doctors keep saying that its normal, and they just keep finding things like urine infection, yeast infection, and telling me thats the cause for the pain. I am 38 weeks pregnant and last week I was told I was carrier of the Group B strep virus. The protocol here is that they give me the antibiotics through an IV 4 hrs before I deliver the baby.
I don’t generally like to take AB, but I don’t want anything to happen to my baby so I think I will accept them in this case.
My question is: If you had this same treatment, did your baby have thrush or did you notice any infections that you think may have been brought on by having been exposed to the AB ( thrush, E. Coli, yeast infection, etc.) Because unfortunately it also kills the good germs like the ones in the digestive tract…
Would love to hear from moms who went through this!
i had group b strep with my last 2 pregnancies and received ab at both deliveries. both of my babies were born vaginally and had NO side effects from the ab. babies born of strep b moms with no ab can be VERY sick and even die so please take them, even if your baby had side effects it is not as bad a group b strep. just fyi if you test positive once dr’s will usually treat you as positive for all future pregnancies, also babies can get thrush without ab. my oldest daughter got it and i didn’t have group b with her nor take ab.

I have been on a flagyl cream for 3 days out of a 5 day perscription. I now have a yeast infection. When do I start treatment for this yeast infection? On day 5, after flagyl treatment? Not ever had this problem, but doctor told me I am alright because healthy woman get this Vaginisis, and not to worry. I would like to know how common this BV is also. As I have my annual exams and have always been fine. My husband and I are trying for another baby, will this affect our chances. Thank You.
why don’t you try to eat yogurt while your treating your bv that will help out with the yeast infections as soon as you are done with the flaglyl take the meds for the yeast infection, when you and your husband make love and he c#$& inside of you it changes your ph balance which could cause the bv maybe you should try to only have him to C#% inside only around the time you are ovulating this is so annoying especially when your trying to have a little one but it really helps the situations well i hope this help good luck and lots of baby dust. oh yeah when you have bv and your pregnant you have a risk of miscarriage but don’t worry i don’t just focus on getting pregnant try to stay healthy and consult with your obgyn good luck and lots of baby dust to everyone.
