Archive for the ‘one day yeast infection treatment’ Category

I used the Target brand of the monostat 3 day treatment and I still have quite a bit of external itching. I finished it on Tuesday. Is it ok to use another treatment pack so soon? I’ve had yeast infections before and they’ve cleared up with the 3 day treatments. I hate to go to the Dr. because I will get charged. Has anyone tried this?

I couldn’t get into the article on that website.

Well i would hold off til saturday since that stuff continues to work days after. Buy a cheap tube of the external itch cream, it does wonders! Then try another round of it saturday.

just started 7 days treatment last night and all day today ive have yellow and green looking discharge…i dont if it normal or something else, this is my first yeast infection and i am 13 weeks pregnant….the discharge is green and yellow…and is coming out of me like as in a period type of flow and real chunky but flowy (TMI i know )

I had a yeast infection but never green or yellow stuff. Also I only had to take one oral pill to get rid of it (maybe you can cuz you are pregnant)…..O WAIT are you using monostat or another ovul insert…I used that once too lol it leaks out so they say to wear panty liners it could look creamy and yellowish but idk bout green. You should talk to a doctor if anything. wear cotton undies and loos fitting clothing, they are more common when you are pregnant :)

also my doctor informed me that if I ever got one again to do monostat 7day because only the 7day one works (what she said) so you should be good :)

I had to take medicine (amoxicillin) for a UTI and the medicine gave me a yeast infection, i was told to use cider apple vinegar to treat it (the yeast infection), so i have but i dont know whether i should continue my regular Equate walmart brand 7 day yeast infection treatment as well…what should i do?
i just bought more apple cider vinegar and i bought some acidephellus; not sure how you spell it, i took 2 of the acedephellus and used a bit of the apple cider vinegar but its BURNS like crazy now, more then yesterday, im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing….btw i didnt use the equate thing. how long will i have to keep doing this?

I think it’s a bit of a contradiction to do both. The apple cider vinegar is a very natural treatment, and you certainly can’t say that for the pharmaceutical treatment. I would look carefully at the ingredients as most body care products are full of chemical preservatives and petroleum products that are not good for your skin or your health. The apple cider vinegar should more than be enough to clear up your yeast. I have another suggestion if your UTI is recurring. Until recently I was a big fan of cranberry capsules or extract to treat a UTI…and cranberry is still a good choice. I have a close friend that suffers with chronic UTI issues. In doing some research for her I discovered something called D-Mannose. D-Mannose is a naturally occurring simple sugar which attracts bacteria as it passes through the bladder and kidneys, and then is eliminated when you pee. The latest research shows that it can be anywhere between 10-50 times more effective than cranberry capsules in treating the type of bacteria that causes 80-90% of UTI infections. Just thought I’d share that. Good luck and be well.

I would stay away from anything like that when your pregnant. Many times over the counter meds don’t cure the infection. It just goes away for a little bit and then comes back. Here’s an article that might give you some more information on home remedies.

Actually, I prefer to take Diflucan, which is a prescription oral anti-yeast medication. If I want to get a running start on killing off the excess yeast, though, I’ll use a 3 or 7 day treatment. I’m diabetic, some of my medications make my blood sugar go up, so my yeast infections are harder to treat than the average woman’s.

I’d say to go with what works for you. If you have good results with a one day treatment, then use that. It’s certainly more convenient.
